This 44-mile Green River rafting trip offers incredible scenery, wildlife, hiking and Indian rock art and ruins. Flows on the Green River are controlled by the Flaming Gorge Dam, providing great whitewater all season.

Explore three spectacular canyons on this Green River rafting trip in Dinosaur National Monument – Lodore Canyon, Whirlpool Canyon and Split Mountain Gorge. The rapids are plentiful, yet forgiving for families with young children. Throughout each day your professional river guides will educate you about the history, geology, flora and fauna of the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument as you follow part of John Wesley Powell’s route in his famous expedition of western rivers in 1869. Each afternoon land at a new riverside camp to explore your surroundings, while your guides set up a mobile kitchen and prepare delicious meals for your group. After dinner relax and tell stories of the day’s adventure.
No rafting experience is required to take part in this Green River rafting trip
Children must be at least six years old and 50 pounds to participate on this Green River rafting trip. Adrift Adventures can provide all the necessary equipment and your guides can teach you Leave No Trace camping techniques.
Adrift Adventures offers small groups the opportunity to explore the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument
The National Park Service limits Gates of Lodore rafting trips to 25 people, but most Adrift Adventures groups are smaller. In 2011, group sizes averaged about 12 people with four guides. We can offer exclusive trips for your group, so please call for special rates and additional dates.
GREEN RIVER RAFTING VACATION ITINERARY

Gates of Lodore Green River Rafting Vacation.
Day Prior to Your Rafting Trip:
We encourage you to stop by the Adrift Adventures Rafting Center before 6 PM the day prior to your trip so that you can pick up your waterproof gear bag and meet us. This will allow you to pack the night before your trip starts.
Day 1:
7:30am – Meet at Adrift Adventures Rafting Center, nine miles east of Vernal on US Hwy 40 in Jensen, Utah. Guests are on their own for breakfast prior to meeting Adrift guides. An earlier meeting time can be arranged if you flew into the area. Come with your river bag packed. The shuttle to put-in will depart from the Adrift Adventures Rafting Center. At the river put-in your trip leader will provide a safety orientation before you start rafting through Lodore Canyon. Lunch and dinner are provided. Camp at a road-less wilderness site in the canyon. Lunch and dinner are provided.
Day 2:
Rafting on Green River with chance for optional short hikes to observe wildlife and canyon geology. Run one of the big rapids, Hell’s Half Mile, and camp at a remote beach. Optional hike. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
Day 3:
After breakfast we float out of Lodore into 2,000 ft. deep Whirlpool Canyon and run fun rapids. Great optional hike to waterfall and Indian rock art. Camp in wilds. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided.
Day 4:
Coffee and breakfast is ready early then we launch on the river and float through the exciting rapids of Split Mountain Gorge. Lunch is also provided. You should arrive at the river trip takeout around 3pm where you are shuttled back to your car at the Adrift Adventures Rafting Center arriving around 4pm.
